This year for the first time, firefighters from the Public Education section of the Montréal fire department (SIM) and their mascot, Chief, brought some hope, comfort and joy to sick children. On December 16, firefighters Alexis Lambert, Vincent Lanoix and Simon Robitaille, along with Captain Éric Tisseur and Assistant Director Michel Denis, visited nearly 130 children and their parents at the CHU Sainte-Justine hospital. They took along small gifts for all the youngsters, to brighten up their holiday season. It was delightful to see the happiness on the children’s faces!
In addition to Sainte-Justine, firefighters will be bringing smiles and laughter to children at the Marie Enfant Rehabilitation Centre, the Montreal Children's Hospital and the Shriners Hospital for Children. Thanks to this initiative by Alexis Lambert, firefighters from the Public Education section will be visiting nearly 400 children between now and January 2015.
Our thanks to the staff at Sainte-Justine, the Marie Enfant Rehabilitation Centre, the Montreal Children's Hospital and the Shriners Hospital for Children for their co-operation.
