The role of firefighter-first responders is to offer basic medical care in order to stabilize victims of medical emergencies.

Located in 66 fire stations on the island of Montréal, they respond in case of life-threatening situations, such as cardiac or respiratory problems.

Firefighter-first responders work in close collaboration with paramedics. Together, they help reduce the number of deaths and the aftermath for victims of serious accidents.
