In preparation for potential flooding, the Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal (SIM) and the Centre de sécurité civile (CSC) have launched a flood prevention campaign to boost public preparedness in Montréal’s boroughs and neighbouring municipalities.
Throughout the month of April, SIM prevention agents, along with their partners, will go to areas that were affected by flooding in 2017 and 2019 to distribute brochures about what to do before, during and after floods.
The educational campaign will take place in the following areas.
-
Pierrefonds-Roxboro
-
Ahuntsic-Cartierville
-
L’Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève
-
Le Village de Senneville
-
La Ville de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.
In the current context of the spread of COVID-19, prevention agents will comply with all public health directives issued by the government to protect residents’ health and safety. To this end, prevention agents will hang information materials on residents’ doorknobs or drop them in their mailboxes.
